Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of the discussion techniques in group guidance could be increase student’s motivation in class XI SMK N 1 Sambirejo Sragen. The symptoms that appear are: students show bad attitudes such as not paying attention when the teacher is teaching, doing random assignments, then busy talking to themselves in class, it could be seen from student behavior when given the opportunity to ask questions about the material or tasks they are discussing more a lot of silence, and no attempt to compete with his friends in class. The behavior that is raised by the students is a reflection of those who lack the motivation to learn so that it will have a bad impact on the value they get in learning. This study uses an experimental research design with one group pre-test post-test quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were students of class XI SMK N 1 Sambirejo Sragen. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews and documentation. Data processing techniques in this study consisted of data analysis techniques and data interpretation. Based on the results of the analysis that the significance value is 0.000 because the significance value is less than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of discussion technique group guidance services to increase students' learning motivation. The enthusiasm and the effectiveness of students participating in guidance group activities from the first meeting to the fourth meeting showed an increase. This is evident from the result of observations, student self-reflection,direct interviews with supervising teachers. Based on the conclusion, it is suggested that the supervising teacher is very important in overcoming student’s problems, especially those relatedto student’s learning problems, guidance group should be effective to increase student’s learning motivation.
