Abstract
Shallot (Allium cepa var. aggregatum) is an important horticultural commodity with continuously increasing demand. One of the efforts to improve productivity is through the use of biological fertilizers such as mycorrhiza and liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) made from household waste, which can increase nutrient absorption efficiency. This study aimed to determine the effect of mycorrhiza application and LOF application intervals on the growth and yield of shallot variety Bima. This research was conducted from February to May 2025 in Koripan Village, Matesih District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, at an elevation of 450 meters above sea level. This study used a factorial method with a basic design of a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the dose of mycorrhiza: M1 = without mycorrhiza, M2 = 5 grams, M3 = 10 grams. The second factor was LOF application intervals: P1 = without LOF, P2 = application every 3 days, P3 = every 6 days, and P4 = every 9 days. The observed parameters included vegetative growth and yield components. The results showed that: (1) Mycorrhiza application had a highly significant effect on the number of bulbs, bulb weight, and consumable bulb weight, but no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, fresh biomass weight, or bulb diameter. The 10 g dose (M3) produced the best results with 7.20 bulbs, 32.75 g bulb weight, and 31.12 g consumable bulb weight per clump (2) Liquid organic fertilizer from household waste had a highly significant effect on bulb number, bulb weight, bulb diameter, and consumable bulb weight. The 3-day interval (P2) produced the highest results, with 8.00 bulbs and 36.83 g bulb weight per clump, but did not affect plant height, number of leaves, or fresh biomass (3) The interaction between mycorrhiza and LOF showed no significant effect on all observed growth and yield parameters, indicating that both treatments worked independently without significant synergistic effects (4) The best treatment combination was M3P2 (10 g mycorrhiza + LOF every 3 days), producing 9.00 bulbs, 41.17 g bulb weight, and 39.67 g consumable bulb weight per clump. When converted to a 1-hectare scale, this combination resulted in an estimated yield of ±13.2 tons/ha shallot consumption bulbs, Bima variety.
