Abstract

The drainage channel is one of complementary buildings on Jalan Sukowati, Sragen. Jalan Sukowati area often occurs inundation during rainy season which is very detrimental to public. This is caused by water level condition in drainage channel rising and overflowing into surrounding area. So it is necessary to evaluate drainage channel condition that cannot accommodate design discharge. This paper presents results of the drainage channels evaluation for flood control on Jalan Sukowati, Sragen. The evaluation was carried out by comparing design and existing drainage channels capacity to accommodate flood discharge on the southern and northern Sukowati Sragen drainage channels. The analysis was carried out in 2 steps. The first step is a hydrological analysis to calculate design rainfall and design discharge for 2 year, 5 year, and 10 year floods using the Rational method. The second step is hydraulic analysis to determine drainage channel capacity. The analysis results of the South and North drainage channels have a design discharge that is greater than existing discharge, namely 1,40 m3/s and 1,27 m3/s for the southern drainage channel, while 0,95 m3/s and 0,54 m3/s for north drainage. Thus, the South and North Sukowati Sragen drainage channels need to be redesign. The drainage channel dimensions that are design to be able to minimize flood incidence are 1,4 meters x 0,57 meters for the south, and 1,42 meters x 0,1 meters for the north.
