Abstract

Sweetcorn(Zeamaysvar.Saccharata,Sturt)isahorticulturalcropwithhigheconomicvalue.Sweetcornplantsaresusceptibletoattackbyplantpestorganisms,reducingproductionyields.Usingsyntheticchemicalpesticidesofthecarbamategroupcanreducethediversityofpredatoryinsectsasbiologicalcontrollers.Manyfarmersdonotknowabouttheroleofpredatoryinsectsinagriculture,sothereisoftenamistargetincontrol.Thisstudyaimedtodeterminethediversityofpredatoryinsectsonsweetcorn.TheresearchwasconductedinCabeyan,Sukoharjodistrict,usingthedescriptiveobservationmethod.Datacollectionisdonedirectly.Inthisstudy,severaltypesofpredatoryinsectswerefound,includingthreespeciesfromtheAraneaeorder,twofromtheOdonata,onefromtheHymenoptera,onefromtheDiptera,andonespeciesfromtheColeoptera
